Hadrat Shaib

The Birth of the Sheikh

Hazoor Khwaja-eh-Khwajghaan rehmatullah alai was born on 4th April in 1934 AC - 19th Dhu'l-Hijja 1352 AH in Shadphur, Taliyanwala, Jhelum.

Family Background

Hazoor Qibla-eh-Alim rehmatullah alai opened his eyes in a very religious family, his father Majid Miah Karam Daad rehmatullah alai was extremely steadfast in prayer and fasting. Due his truthfulness, honesty and asceticism Hazrat Majid Miah was renown throughout the entire community.

Being blessed with the Prophets (saw) Ziyarat

Qibla-eh-Alim rehmatullah alai was educated during his childhood through to maturity in the local Islamic Madaris. The Madaris provided both Islamic Education and modern sciences. At the age of 19, Qibla-eh-Alim rehmatullah alai graduated from the Madaris. It was at this very age that an event took place that changed the entire aim of life for Khwaja-eh-Khwajghaan (ra). One night the Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallalaho Alai Wa Aalaihe Wassalam appeared in the Sheikh’s dream, NabiAllah Sallalaho Alai Wa Aalaihe Wassalam asked Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) "will you do the work of my deen?", to which the Sheikh replied "of course".  The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) then presented some dates to Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) with his blessed hands. As RasoolAllah Sallalaho Alai Wa Aalaihe Wassalam was presenting the dates he (saw) asked, "will you eat them?", Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) replied, "if the King is offering who am I to refuse". Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) used to mention the dates had an unusual taste, they were extremely sour, however he ate all the dates. It was only an instant after eating the dates that the chest of Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) became illuminated with rays of light. When Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) awoke from the dream every little atom of his body felt different, all things had a new perspective, the heart had become filled with the love of Allah (swt) and His  messenger (saw). From that very day forward Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) started to read Namaaz-eh-Tahajjud with extreme steadfastness. Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) made it a daily custom to read salutations upon the Prophet (saw). Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) also  started to visit the dwelling of many saints (ra) more often, especially the darbars of Hazrat Miah Muhammad Baksh (ra) and Hazrat Peeray Shah Ghazi Sarkaar (ra) in Karee Shariff, Pakistan, whom he (ra) grew very fond of.

For five long years Hazrat Sahib (ra) worked extremely hard, during the day he would fast and during the night he would stay awake remembering the Creator (swt). Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) planned out his day in accordance to the way the great men of the past lived, every minute was spent remembering the creator, as it is said "working for a halaal income is also form of worship".

The Physical Allegiance

Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) was blessed with having an awaisi (spiritual) link with the Prophet (saw), the Sheikh (ra) was blessed on numerous occasions with Ziyarat's (sightings) of the Prophet (saw) in his dreams throughout these five years. Along with the awaisi link with the Prophet (saw), the Sheikh (ra) also had a spiritual link with Peeray Shah Ghazi (ra). These spiritual links grew stronger with every passing day, however, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) wanted a physical link, he (ra) wanted a pious teacher who could guide him to success and was there whenever he (ra) needed him. With the intention of finding a physical sheikh, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) went to Peeray Shah Ghazi's (ra) darbar. Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) did fatiyah and then made dua to Allah (swt). That very night Peeray Shah Ghazi (ra) appeared in Qibla-eh-Alim (ra)'s dream. Peeray Shah Ghazi (ra) approached Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) and said "Aslam, you want physical bayt (allegiance), this type of bayt can be found across the river".

Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) immediately started searching for the man who was to be their physical guide. It was quite some time later that Hazrat Sahib (ra) met a man who was a maureed of a pious man in Mohree Shariff. The pious man in Mohree Shariff was Ghawth-eh-Zamah Qutb-al-Aqtab Zareen-Zarbakht  Hazrat Khwaja Sufi Nawaab-uddin Sahib rehmatullah alai. As soon as Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) was told about Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra), Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) desperately wanted to see him, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) knew this is surely the person who Peeray Shah Ghazi (ra) had indicated about.

Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) wasted no time and went across the river straight away to meet this Man of Allah, there was a large number of disciples of Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra) present, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) also sat down amongst them.

Hazrat Khwaja Sufi Nawaab-uddin Sahib (ra) was delivering a speech, on the topic of bayt, whilst talking Hazrat Nawaab-uddin Sahib (ra) kept looking at Qibla-eh-Alim (ra). During his speech, whilst still looking at Qibla-eh-Alim (ra), he said "those who are blessed to have an awaisi ( spiritual) link with NabiAllah Sallalaho Alai Wa Aalaihe Wassalam, they should also have a physical bayt whereby they can be totally guided". This was enough for Qibla-eh-Alim (ra), upon hearing this he stood up and walked towards Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra), Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) placed his hands in the hands of Hazrat Nawaab-uddin and took bayt. Thus Qibla-eh-Alim was accepted into the silsilah alia Naqshbandiya Mujaddidiya. Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra) presented Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) a very short wazifa. Qibla-eh-Alim became shocked and enquired "Janaab, I usually spend day and night reading extensive wazaif, what will this small wazifa (shown below) do for me?" Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra) just smiled

That night when Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) got home he performed ablution and read Namaaz-eh-Tahajjud, after reading Namaaz-eh-Tahajjud he went to sleep. Whilst asleep the Grand Sheikh (ra) visited Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) in the dream. Hazrat Nawaab-uddin stared into Qibla-eh-Alim (ra)'s eyes and shouted ALLAH. Instantly Qibla-eh-Alim (ra)'s heartbeat became irregular and started to beat to the rhythm of "ALLAH-HU."

Moving to England

In 1963 AC, 1382 AH, at the age of 30, due to the command of his Sheikh, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) moved to England. His first dwelling was in a house in London. In those days England was in the depth of kufr. Drugs, fornication, rock and roll was the norm; the hippies influenced every second person. The Muslim migrants were also becoming influenced; their imaan was dying in the shadows of the kufr. There were no Masjids, no Madaris, and no structure of the Ulema-eh-Kiraam or the Mashaikh-eh-Azaam. Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) during the days of darkness worked in factories and alongside practiced and preached Islam. Within the factory where Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) worked, he arranged a prayer room to be made and started congregations. Many people through Qibla-eh-Alim's (ra) left their bad ways and had the opportunity to repent sincerely, do true tawba. Regardless of all this Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) did not want to stay in England, after a short while he left and returned to Pakistan with the intention of living there for the rest of his life.

Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) started trade in Pakistan but made a financial loss, Hazrat Nawaab-uddin (ra) on his visit said, "Sufi Aslam, your work is not here! The failure of your business is an omen that your work lies in England not Pakistan! Go to England my son!” Qibla-eh-Alim for the second time came to Great Britain, whilst in England the Prophet Muhammad (saw) came to Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) in his dream and said "Khwaja Aslam, you look happy", Hazrat Sahib (ra) replied, "Hazoor, indeed I am I have made such a beautiful seat for you to sit on", with the Prophet (saw) was a companion (ra) who said " Hazoor, he is also pleased because you have selected him as a representative in England". Upon hearing this the Prophet smiled and said "without doubt, in a country as barren as this, it is a tremendous deed to remember Allah (swt) and make others remember Allah (swt).

The Youth Benefiting

With the reassurance that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) was spiritually helping and the dua of the Sheikh also with him, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) was ready to tackle any evil. It was the blessings of the Lord, the Nigah-eh-Karam of Hazoor NabiKareem Sallalaho alai Wa Aalaihe Wassalam, and the dua of Hazrat Nawaab-uddin that where ever Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) focused he brought change for the good. The youngsters of Europe, who were drowning in the filth of dunya, who were falling prey to the wrong path, due to Qibla-eh-Alim’s (ra) sincerity, purity of character and tireless work for the religion of Islam  repented and started to prostrate in front of their Lord Allah (swt). They prostrated in front of their Lord Allah ninety-six times a day, these once mislead youngsters started to take on the ways of the Prophet (saw), leaving behind all the filth and moving towards Jannah along the Siraatul Mustaqeem.

Christians, Sikhs and People from other Religions Accepting Islam

The Blazing Sun of Tassawuf not only revived the ways of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) amongst the "born" Muslims but Hazoor Khwaja Khwajaghaan (ra) ignited the light of Islam in countless Christians, Sikhs and Hindus. Hazrat Sahib (ra) spent day and night, “in a country as spiritually barren as England, remembering Allah (swt) and make others remember Allah (swt)”. Due to his effort in the way of Allah, with the blessings of his Sheikh, and the nigah-eh-karam of Hazoor Rehmatulil Alameen (saw), Khwaja Aslam (ra) caused a revolution in the lives of people, the name of Allah (swt) was being mentioned from the most Northern part of Scotland to the most Southern part of England. This spiritually barren land by the Grace and Glory of Allah (swt) was growing fertile with the remembrance of Allah SWT and with the sunnahs of the
prophet (saw) .

Karamat (Miracle)

Alhamdulillah by the Grace and Glory of Allah, Khwaja Khwajaghaan performed many karamat’s. The karamat of an Auliya Allah, or the maujehzah of an Ambiyah, is not done by his own accord or his will, but in fact by the will of Allah (swt).

Hazrat Khwaja Khwajghaan (ra) often use to say, “the miracle of reviving the dead by a dervish is not seen as a great thing nor a great miracle, but reviving a dead heart is the greatest miracle”. This literally means that when a dervish performs the miracle of reviving the dead by Allah (swt)’s leave, this is simply the task of joining the spirit and the body back together. The revived body will inevitably die once again due to the command of Allah SWT. However, the miracle of reviving the "dead" heart (the heart is dead due to forgetfulness of the commands of it's Lord ( i.e. it is in Ghafla) and of the message of the Messenger (saw)) is greater as the heart which is alive with the remembrance of it's Lord will remain "alive" with the mercy of it's Lord eternally.

Alhamdulillah Khwaja Khwajghaan performed the greater and the lesser miracles throughout his life, one of his greatest miracles was upholding the ways of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) when everyone around him were going through a phase of ignorance. His steadfastness to the truth and ways of the Prophet caused others to accept and follow his example. By the Grace of Allah, by working in the way of Allah in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) during times of ignorance ignited the memories of the salaf us saliheen.

Character

Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) was extremely kind and pleasant to all people regardless of their faith, race, and age. The laws of Shariah were utmost priority for Qibla Hazrat Sahib (ra), it was for this very reason that from the hundred thousands of maureeds (disciples), almost every single one, is steadfast on keeping ablution, maintaining prayers at right times and keeping obligatory and compulsory fasts.

Khulafah

The Khulafah of Hazrat Khwaja Sufi Muhammad Aslam Sahib (ra) were the first Khulafah in Britain. There are numerous Khulafah (spiritual leaders) all over England encompassing people of different ages and of different races but all with one aim and one mission, to spread the message of the Prophet of Allah. Every city with Khulafah has a gathering of dhikr. In the city of Blackburn, Lancashire, England, Hazrat Sahib (ra) laid down the foundation and established the Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Spiritual Centre. This was the centre of the tariqat in England and Shadpur Shariff the centre in Pakistan. It is in Blackburn that currently the son of Qibla-eh-Alim (ra), Hazrat Sahibzada Riaz Ahmed Aslami is continuing, day and night with the message of his father. May Allah grant him success. Ameen.

In Pakistan Shadpur Shariff, Taliyanwala, Jhelum, next to the river Jhelum, Hazrat Sahib (ra) laid down the foundations and built a Masjid and Madaris for the benefit and education of the town’s people.

The Death of the Ghawth-eh-Zamah

At the age of 65, on Monday 12th April 1999AC (25th Dhu'l-Hijja 1419AH) with the words Allah, Allah, Allah on his tongue, Qibla-eh-Alim (ra) left this world to meet his Creator (swt).

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilay hi raji'un ”
"To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return"

May Allah (swt) shower the grave of this friend of His with endless blessings. Ameen.
May Allah fill our breasts with the faiz (spiritual blessings) of this great man of Allah (swt). Ameen.
